In-Office Teeth Whitening

For in-office whitening, Dr. Jobst chose Zoom!® products for their superiority and safety. An in-office Zoom! treatment reverses stains from drinks, food, tobacco, aging, and even some medications, brightening your smile up to eight shades in about an hour — without altering the chemistry of the enamel or causing the sensitivity most products cause.

The process starts with a professional cleaning and dental exam, then we protect your lips and gums before applying the whitening gel and using a special activator light to help it work deep into the teeth.

Take-Home Teeth Whitening

Patients who receive in-office whitening also get Zoom! take-home products, and some patients choose the take-home option alone. Zoom! at-home gel is much stronger than anything available over the counter. We fabricate custom trays from an impression of your mouth, so the gel stays exactly where it needs to be rather than irritating your gums the way a generic, one-size-fits-all tray can. We also offer strips and pens for touching up spots as needed.

Am I a Candidate for Teeth Whitening?

Ideal candidates are adults with healthy teeth and gums who are:

  • Not pregnant or nursing
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Free of active gum disease or recession
  • Free of active dental decay
  • Not allergic to peroxide

If you have crowns, bridges, or fillings, bleaching agents will not change their color, which can leave uneven shading if those restorations are in the front of your smile — porcelain veneers may be a better option if you have significant restorations or highly discolored teeth.
