Journey Into the World of Dental Technology
As the ever-evolving field of dentistry continues to shift, it’s important for dental professionals to stay abreast of new developments in the field. Here at Grand Lake Dental, Dr. Karl Jobst and his team are dedicated to serving patients with the latest dental technology. Learn about some of the technology we use in our Grove, OK dental office:
iCat FLX
This cone beam 3D imaging technology represents a huge upgrade from our previous iCAT. With the iCat , we are able to customize the scan height and area of interest for a more individualized examination. It’s flexible in that it also allows us to view the entire mouth and face, to gain a better understanding of your overall health. The iCat can help us treat you in orthodontics, airway analysis, oral surgery, and more. If any pathology is visible in your scan, Dr. Jobst will work alongside a trusted radiologist to interpret your results and recommend treatment.
3Shape Trios
The award-winning 3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner sets both patient and dentist up for success. Best of all for you, this wireless scanner allows us to scan your mouth in a more comfortable manner. Why else is this a winning technology?
It’s accurate: Independently conducted studies have shown time and time again that TRIOS permits for higher accuracy than traditional impressions. This means it can make a difference in your restorations, whether they are single unit, full-arch, or somewhere in between.
It uses realistic colors: Because TRIOS is equipped with advanced digital imaging technology, the impressions it creates are in realistic shades. The shade measurement tool can save time, while creating highly accurate restorations.
It uses AI for an easier process: Artificial intelligence is used to remove excess soft tissue from the scans, so we can gain a better understanding of your teeth.
It can help identify and correct dynamic occlusions: Sometimes, it’s necessary to examine a patient’s teeth movements. With TRIOS, dentists can do so, highlighting the dynamic and static points of contact. This allows us to perfect your restorations so you can leave with a better smile.
ARES Sleep Testing
For those suspected to be suffering from sleep apnea or other sleep disorders, we offer the ARES Home Sleep Testing service. This hassle-free, cloud-based device is designed to gather accurate data about your sleep patterns. The information can then be used to diagnose and treat your sleep disorder. The best part is that the ARES Home Sleep Testing device is small and can be worn in the comfort of your own home. It attaches to your forehead and is suitable for all sleep positions.
Now that you have a better understanding of the kinds of dental technology used by Dr. Karl Jobst and his team at Grand Lake Dental, you may want to know if any of this technology will be used in your treatment plan. Get in touch with our team online or via phone at (918) 787-5800 today to schedule an appointment to discuss your oral health.
Our Grove, OK dental office is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to better the lives of our patients. We can’t wait to make a difference in your smile!
The ARES unit is worn for two nights for a minimum of 4 hours a night. The
data is then uploaded and analyzed by a cardiologist that is board certified
in sleep medicine. With this information and working with your physician we
can then make an orthotic to reposition your jaw forward to open the airway
while you sleep or have your physician place you on CPAP if needed. Mild and
moderate cases can be treated with the orthotic while severe cases are best
treated with CPAP.
